
June 23, 2009, Ed McMahon dies at 86 years of age. McMahon died shortly after midnight at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. McMahon’s publicist Howard Bragman did not release the cause of death, saying only that McMahon had quite a few health problems within the last few months.”

Ed McMahon was on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson for 30 years (1962 – 1992). Other than Tonto the Indian, in The Lone Ranger, Ed McMahon was the original sidekick.

For years Ed McMahon was the spokes person for American Family Publishers, NOT Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes. You may remember him reciting this famous phrase, “You may have already won $10,000,000!”

Edward Peter Leo McMahon, Jr. was born in Detroit Michigan in 1923. What most people don’t know is that Ed McMahon was a Marine Corps Aviator in 1944. After World War II, McMahon was called back to the Marine Corps in 1955, flew 85 missions in Korea, and became a Korean War Veteran.
