June 23, 2009, Ed McMahon dies at 86 years of age. McMahon died shortly after midnight at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. McMahon’s publicist Howard Bragman did not release the cause of death, saying only that McMahon had quite a few health problems within the last few months.”

During his 12 year hosting stint on Star Search, Ed McMahon brought us many famous celebrity  actors, comedians, dancers, singers, and song writers. The most famous are listed here: Aaliyah, Alanis Morrisette, Bobbie Brown, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Coors Light Twins (Diane & Elaine Klimaszewski), David Chappelle, Dennis Miller, Destiny’s Child, Drew Carey, Jenny Jones, Jessica Simpson, Justin Timberlake, Martin Lawrence, Norm MacDonald, Ray Romano, Rosie O’Donnell, Sinbad, and Sharon Stone. However, Tiffany was the first big star to surface, with a number one hit, I Think We’re Alone Now, in 1988.

Ed McMahon was on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson for 30 years (1962 – 1992). Other than Tonto the Indian, in The Lone Ranger, Ed McMahon was the original sidekick.

Edward Peter Leo McMahon, Jr. was born in Detroit Michigan in 1923. What most people don’t know is that Ed McMahon was a Marine Corps Aviator in 1944. After World War II, McMahon was called back to the Marine Corps in 1955, flew 85 missions in Korea, and became a Korean War Veteran.

Cool beans. Aaliyah was amazing. A celebrity I both admire and miss. It’s a shame what happened to her. The popart painting I own of her is supercool and will be hung on my wall forever!
